Top 5 IT Universities in France: 2026 Fees,Requirements, and Rankings

Study IT in France

France is one of the best and smartest choices for students who want a high-quality IT or computer science degree without paying extremely high tuition fees. Unlike many English-speaking countries, France offers globally recognized degrees, strong research opportunities, and very affordable public education.

Another big advantage is that many IT and computer science programs are now taught fully in English, especially at the master’s level.  So if you are interested in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, software engineering, cloud computing, etc., then you should consider France as your next study destination. If you don’t know about school or university in France and issues with finding a better university for your further study, then don’t worry; we will help you with finding the best IT university in France that you consider for your higher study. Let’s start it without wasting your time, which we always care about.

Top 5 IT Universities in France

Although there are some universities in France in general, we chose only five that are the best universities overall in France.

1. Université Paris-Saclay

This is one of the best universities for research, especially in AI, which is a hot field these days, and advanced computing, which is why we put this at the top of the list.

The fact is that Université Paris-Saclay is widely considered the number one science and technology university in France. It is especially strong in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, and engineering if you have an engineering background that is somehow linked to IT.

Popular IT Programs

Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science & Big Data, and Cybersecurity are their most popular courses.

EU/EEA/Switzerland students:             €178 per year,                                  €254 per year

Non-EU students:                                 €2,500 – €3,000 per year                 €3,500 – €4,000 per year

Author key note for regarding the Fee

The fee for EU citizens is very low, but non-EU citizens have to pay around 12 to 15 hundred euros per semester if we count it as a 6-month semester. So it’s not that high for non-EU students, too, but you can consider a scholarship as well, which will exempt you from paying full or partial fees.

For Doctoral registration, fees are approximately €397 per year. This is an administrative fee, and tuition itself is free.  So it doesn’t matter whether you belong to the EU or a non-EU because the fee will be the same in both situations. So you can consider a PhD here as well.

Scholarships offers

  • Eiffel Excellence Scholarship
  • University merit-based scholarships
  • Campus France funding options

Author note regarding Language Requirement

Although this university is top of our list and the amazing thing about this university is that they accept certificates that show that you B2 Level of English. If you don’t have IELTS, but you can get official statements from your university that explain that you studied your previous study in English, especially if you are applying for a master then your bachelor’s should be in English.

However, if you are from a non-EU country, try to apply in the first session. If you miss this opportunity, then you can apply early in the second session. Author Recommendations for you

If you are feeling confused after reading all these options, don’t worry. This is completely normal. Every university listed above is excellent, but not every university is right for every student.

If I had to give one clear recommendation for most international IT students, it would be Université Paris-Saclay

From an applicant’s point of view, Paris-Saclay offers the best overall balance of everything a student needs:

  1. Strong global reputation in IT and Computer Science
  2. Very affordable public university tuition
  3. Excellent research facilities in AI, Data Science, and Software Engineering
  4. High acceptance of international students
  5. Good scholarship opportunities for non-EU students.
  6. Strong career and PhD pathways after completing your degree that is leading to a PhD..
  7. Language requirements are not high.

Note: Do not choose a university only based on ranking if you are from a non-EU country, where you have to pay a much higher tuition fee for your bachelor’s and master’s. So it would be best for you to choose it based on your budget, career goals, and learning style. However, if you are looking for a PhD, then of course we encourage you to look for a top-class and high-ranking university. As a matter of fact, the fee for a PhD is almost the same for every university, which is not more than 400 euros. Read more about Université Paris-Saclay
