How to Apply for an EU Family Member Residence Card in Poland?

Family member residency in Poland

Moving from one European country to another European country is a very common practice. If you live in Germany, Romania, or Paris and you want to move to Warsaw, Poland, then you have the right to stay for a specific period of time without any application for a visa. That means all the European countries allow EU citizens to live in any country for a specific period of time without applying for a visa. But if your plan is to stay longer in Poland, then you have to apply for family member residence in Poland.

When to apply exactly for this residency?

Let’s understand this in very simple words. If you are from another EU country and move to Poland legally, then of course you can live in Poland for 90 days without applying for a visa, but if you want to stay longer, you have to apply for a residence permit even if you have an EU visa or passport.

What are the requirements to apply for an EU family member residence permit in Poland?

There are certain requirements that you need to fulfill when apply for residence permit as an EU family member

  1. You have a residence address in Poland.
  2.  You have a house contract or zameldowania.
  3. If you are family, then your family documents, e.g., marriage certificate, child birth certificate, etc.
  4. Job offer letter (optional), but it would be a plus point for you.

Author advice for you: when you reach Poland, then you must get the house contract form land lord and get offical address or zameldowania, a house where you are living because the imigration office must know where you are living exactly in Poland. this is standard requirmeent not in poland but also in every country in europe and without proper address, it doesn’t help to get a residence permit in Poland for any EU family member.
