Spouse Visa for non-EU citizens

As a family, we are always worried about bringing our spouses to Poland because we all like to settle here in Poland with our spouses, but the question is, how can you get your spouse to Poland without having any issues?

Key Note regarding Process

Remember that the process is not that easy and simple; you have to do many things and prepare many documents to complete the application process.

Steps involved in the process for bringing a non-EU Family to Europe

While talking about steps, then, there are no doubt many steps that are fairly involved in this process, although the requirements are tough and there are many things that you need to consider while applying for this kind of visa.

Remember these key points in your mind before you make this decision.

  1. You have a full-time job.
  2. You must have a valid residence permit.
  3. You have a proper living house.
  4. You are paying tax to the office properly.
  5. Your salary fulfills the requirement that you can bear your family’s or dependent expenses in Poland.
  6. You are not involved in any activity that is considered not to be illegal.
  7. You should have your full health insurance, either private or from your company that is paying for you.

If you fulfill the above five key points that we mentioned above, plus you follow the steps properly and complete all the documents that are required, you won’t face any complications in bringing your spouse to Poland. Although this is a short blog where we mentioned the key points in a short and simple way, if you want to read in depth and every single aspect thoroughly, then we suggest you go through a brief blog by clicking here: Non-EU spouse to Poland.

Author note for you: In point two, where I mentioned that you have a valid residence permit, it does not only mean you have a residence permit, but it actually means that it should be valid at least for two on the date you apply for your non-EU spouse in Poland.

Let’s understand this with an example. e.g., if I have a residence permit that is going to expire in one and a half years and apply for my wife, then it will be obvious that the immigration office will reject my case, as I am not fulfilling the basic requirement, which is two years of valid residence. So my point for you to understand is only that you need to make sure your card is valid for at least two years at the time you apply.  If it is more than two years, then you will get an edge because the office will see in that way that you have a residence card whose expiry date is longer, and you can handle your spouse’s related matter in these years if your spouse reaches Poland on the basis of your residence permit.

FAQs

Should I have separate insurance for my spouse?

No, you don’t need to have separate insurance for your spouse when applying for a visa from your home country.  Your insurance would be enough, but if you buy travel insurance for a Schengen country, then it would be better.

Is it compulsory to buy travel insurance if I have my own insurance?

It is not compulsory; if you have full insurance for your own, you can add your partner or spouse to your insurance, but when you travel internationally, you need travel insurance that covers your insurance during travel if anything happens to you.  This would be considered an addition to your application, as in the Schengen visa process, you somehow need to have travel insurance.

What is the purpose of travel insurance exactly for a Schengen visa, including Poland?

The purpose is very simple. If something happens to you during your travel to Schengen countries, then this insurance will cover your expenses, including emergency medical treatment.  This is a standard requirement, so you have to buy this, as this is not very expensive.
